Hey there! I’m Daniel Matthew James. I currently work in IT at Dell, after having graduated with a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. I’m engaged to the beautiful woman in this photo – Emma! We’re going to get married, by God’s grace, in Summer 2018. :)
I’m a Christian, and I attend the Austin Christian Fellowship Church. My faith is of paramount important to my life, and it’s my joy and pleasure to follow Jesus Christ!
Some more about me:
-I’m an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. If you’re wondering why I always carry some sort of bag or backpack with me, it’s because I sometime take “Be prepared” too literally and have a bunch of emergency preparedness stuff with me at all time! :)
-I was homeschooled from 3rd grade all the way through high school, and loved every second of it, and plan to homeschool my future children (Emma does too, thankfully! :) ).
-I have been heavily involved in music ever since I started taking piano lessons at age 7. Since then, I’ve learned several instruments: primarily the piano, but also some alto saxophone, guitar, hand drums, and harmonica. I primarily play Christian/church music and classical music. Those are the same types of music that I enjoy listening to, as well. I have been teaching piano lessons for 10 years, since seventh grade!
-I have been actively involved in the Awana program from 2nd grade until now. In addition to being a student participant from 2nd grade through 12th grade, I’ve been a leader in Awana from 9th grade to the present. I’m currently the director of the Trek program (6th-8th graders).
-I love participating in my church. My church, ACFC, meets every Sunday morning, followed by lunch and fellowship. Once a month, we visit a local nursing home to sing and interact with the seniors there. We also have a Bible Study every Friday evening, as well as a couple of sports events during the week!
